We all know that breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Ever heard of this "eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dinner like a beggar" quote? I heard it a lot from my dad. Breakfast literally means to break the fast that you went through while you are sleeping and not having food for long hour, so this mean that you are fasting for + - 8 hour!! unless you went to the fridge on midnight and "hunt some food" or got to mamak's store for a supper.
Do you skip your breakfast? If your answer is yes than it is a wrong way to start your beautiful and wonderful day, your body needs energy booster food at this time. Still, lots of people thought skipping breakfast can help them to lose some weight, but it is causing the other way around. Where you will nibble up on high calorie meal and take more larger portion of meal when it is time to eat your first late meal of the day. most people called it brunch where breakfast combine with lunch and come out with brunch, most of us especially student are more attached with this brunch lifestyle. Ok im a student too last time ok, I mostly took brunch every day to save money and time, Im feel so sorry for myself, really!.* embarrassing mode
Back with where you will taking more larger portion or high calorie food if you skip breakfast, this happened because you have been starving yourself for another half day after your long fasting while you sleep, you will feel very hungry and your mind will sent a signal that you want to eat anything and a lot to satisfy your urge of carving for food, to fill your empty stomach.
Another reason why many people skipping breakfast is "lazy" to wake up early to go and buy or make your own breakfast, usually our wake up schedule before we depart ourself to our office or school is in the range of half an hour or an hour earlier. We usually make that time only to take bath, brush hair...or anything regarding to preparing yourself to look good and smell good in the morning, and no space of time to make your own breakfast or buy some. Would rather to take that time to sleep more longer right? But take away your few minutes of your early morning time to make a good and simple breakfast for yourself will make a great different in your diet than not eating any.
Ok..some of you would say "oh..im taking my breakfast everyday and I am non of the above said", but what kind of breakfast are you eating? Nasi lemak? fried noodles? roti canai? quite familiar right? Having a healthy breakfast also important to feed our body with minerals + vitamins+ nutrients. Healthy breakfast means that your meal must contain portion of protein, carbohydrate and vege. From my experience, it is hard for me to find a healthy or colourful meal that sells for breakfast. Before herbalife, my breakfast would always be fried noodle, fried rice, chicken rice and kuih. Not so colourful and unhealthy right? I knew the fact that the food I've been taken for breakfast all these long is unhealthy and oily, but no choice nothing else to buy at my nearest area.
But there are some easy solution for those who lazy to wake up early and not consuming healthy breakfast,
- go for some energy bar where you can just grab and go
- fruits like apple where you can just wash and eat. would like to
recommend banana because banana will make you feel full
- cereal
- or you can just prepare your breakfast the day before, like backing
some bread, biscuits, muffin, pizza anything but cut down all the
sugar and salt, add more healthy ingredient in and personalized it.
- juice and crackers
For me, I had tried all the above and I would prefer a full pack of nutrients meal for me to start my day ahead, so I choose herbalife shake as my healthy breakfast everyday. It is very convenient and easy, just 3 step and didn't take you more than 5 minute.
